The Institute for Strategic and Defence Studies (SVKI) and the Turkish Hacettepe University Strategic Research Centre (HÜSAM) held their first webinar on 30th March. The topic of the webinar was non-proliferation in the Middle East with a special focus on Iran and Turkey. Firstly Prof. Dr. Erzsébet N. Rózsa (NUPS) shared her thoughts on the for-long-proposed Weapons of Mass Destruction Free Zone (MDFZ) in the Middle East and on the Iranian nuclear deal. After Dr. Sebnem Udum (HÜSAM) delivered her presentation on Turkey’s view of proliferation issues in the Middle East. These two enlightening lectures provided basis for a fruitful seminar conversation and Q&A. We are looking forward further joint webinars.
